VP Bawumia presents himself to Chief Imam as NPP running mate for 2020 elections

 

His Excellency the Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has paid a courtesy call on His Eminence the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Professor Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. The visit marks the first time the two have since the Eidul Fitr celebrations.

Dr Bawumia welcomed the Chief Imam from his long spiritual seclusion exercise, the Halwa. The Chief Imam had been in seclusion since Eidul Fitr.

In addition, Dr Bawumia took advantage of the visit to officially present himself as the running mate of the NPP flagbearer and President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.

The Office of the National Chief Imam (ONCI) also thanked Dr Bawumia and the President for the good they’d extended to the Zongo communities. Among the good being the 40 medical scholarships reserved for Zongo youth to study in Cuba, as well as the establishment of the Zongo Development Fund.

The Chief Imam said a word of prayer for the President, his vice, and all government appointees in Ghana.
