Greater Accra Chief of Zongo Communities pays courtesy call on Chief Imam

The Greater Accra Chief of Zongo Communities, His Royal Highness (HRH) Chief Yahya Hamisu Bako, paid a courtesy call on His Eminence the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Prof. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu to introduce his newly installed sub chiefs. The Paramount Chief also introduced his new Palace Chiefs and Special Assistants to His Eminence.

The visit was marked by drumming as the Chief and his sub chiefs reached the Chief Imam’s residence in Fadama. As host of the guests, the Chief Imam received praise for his deeds through the words of a court singer.

Chief Yahya Hamisu Bako’s entourage indicated that they had installed the Chief of the Mute, Mallam Awudu, in addition to the Chief of Lepers, Chief of the Blind, and Chief of the Disabled.

His Eminence commended the Chief and his entourage for the visit and prayed to Allah to strengthen the bond between the paramount chief and his assistants and also between the palace and their subjects.

His Eminence emphasised the importance of such visits in relation to our customs, traditions and religion. The Chief Imam quoted Quranic texts and traditions of Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him) relating to visitation and the keeping of ties of kinship.

The Paramount Chief of Zango Communities in Greater Accra, Yahya Hamisu Bako, who doubles as the Chief of Sabon Zongo, appealed through his spokesman, to His Eminence to pray to Allah to grant his wishes and aspiration of uniting the Zongo communities in Greater Accra.
